Siu Dok

Gia Lai police arrested Siu Yui, a religious leader, and Siu Dok, a parishioner, on charges of sabotaging the implementation of solidarity policies on June 1, 2026. Yui had previously been convicted on the same charge in 2001 and served six years in prison; in 2021, he was disciplined for posting content deemed to be "causing divisions in the great ethnic solidarity."

Yui is accused of contacting a US-based individuals, Ama Cham (Rah Lan Nglol), and Siu Luar, both members of the Montagnard Refugee Organization (MRO) - an exiled Montagnard group that state media links to FULRO. According to his alleged confession, Ama Cham told him the Vietnamese state had recognized Blung Hlau, a Montagnard Protestant sect. Yui then formed prayer groups and liturgical activities, and shared information about the religion and about "the situation regarding freedom of belief, religion, democracy, and human rights among ethnic minority communities in the Central Highlands." Some of this content allegedly "incited separatist and autonomous sentiments, calling for the establishment of a separate state and religion for ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands, and denying the revolutionary achievements of our army and people in this region."

Siu Dok is accused of holding funds intended to establish a separate church and a separate state, acting under the direction of the group above.
