The Ho Chi Minh City People's court sentenced Truong Anh Thu to five years in prison on June 25, 2026, on charges of “conducting propaganda against state”. According to the indictment, Thu had run YouTube channels since 2011 to share commentary on Communist Party policy and government affairs, and posted four videos between April and May 2025 that authorities allege violated the 2018 Cybersecurity Law.
